• I use a custom theme (refrakt) and it seems they somehow disabled the Gutenberg editor and replaced it with their own. I like the theme, but I also like Gutenberg better. Is there a way to reinstate Gutenberg or is there something I can check in the PHP files to get that editor back?

Gutenberg is part of the core in WP version 5+

Unfortunately, “refrakt” is not a free theme that we host here, so we can’t see the code for it, so we cannot help you with it.

We recommend that you contact the authors of the theme for support.

Which will only cost me $59, no thanks. I’m a software developer myself, I don’t have experience with PHP but it wouldn’t be rocket science for me to go and check if I had some pointers as to where to start looking – which is what I had hoped this forum could provide me with.

Start removing chunks of code from functions.php and other similarly named function files without causing syntax errors. If the problem persists then you can look at other files and strip them away until the issue resolves too.
