Gutenberg core block not displaying shortcode

  • The gutenberg core block, is not displaying shortcodes on our homepage.

    Shortcodes however are displaying correctly on pages and posts…

    The shortcodes are appearing as text at present.

    Hi @kieran1234 – if you just updated to WP 6.2.1, and your shortcodes were part of a template in a block theme, it’s this core issue that’s likely at play:

    There’s a workaround in that ticket which you’re welcome to try.

    thank you however this php code does not fix the shortcode error…

    is there any chance someone can have a look please or offer further guidance?

    Hey there @kieran1234 – the Core developers and security team are working on this, so keep your eyes out for a possible update soon.

    The other workaround I’ve seen is to put your shortcodes inside a template part (instead of a regular template) where this issue isn’t present.

    Otherwise, you could roll back to 6.2, but you’ll lose all the security fixes that came in with 6.2.1 so that’s a less desirable option.
