Gutenberg: Can’t edit older posts or add featured image

  • Hi there,

    I actually would like to use Gutenberg, since it seems like a great tool with lots of options – sadly I can’t: All my posts are in a box called “classic” and as soon as I do as much as click on that box, or try to add a new box, the page breaks and gives me 3 options: restore the page, copy the article or copy the error message. when I click on any of the 3 options, nothing happens.

    Apart from that, I can’t add a featured image -neither to a new nor an old post. The option is there, but empty, when I click on the drop down.

    I reinstalled the classic editor for the time being, but I’d really like to know, if / how this can be solved.

    install health check plugin
    use troubleshooting mode-see if the issues persist with all plugins deactivated and default theme in use.

    I am also having difficulty with my featured images showing up now I am using gutenberg and the HealthCheck did not fix it.

    The image is clearly attached on my blog but when I publish, it is not showing up on my Home page as it should be. I did manage to get it set on one since I began using Gutenberg a week ago, but don’t know how I did this. The posts that are NOT showing are set up the same for the featured image as the one that DID show up properly.

    Any suggestions for me would be appreciated thanks.
