I am following the “Anatomy of a Block” tutorial. I am using the WordPress 2022 theme. I have added the “Gutenpride” block as instructed with npm.I have not altered it in any way. I have disabled all other plugins. When I try to use the Gutenpride block, everything works fine except that as soon as I add text or click out of the block, the toolbar above the text input area disappears and does not reappear when I click back into the block. So, for example, I would never be able to delete the block or move it to another position on the page. Can anyone help?

  • What you describe is the normal behaviour of blocks that use text control in the current WordPress version. You can also reproduce this with a normal paragraph block. If you want to optimise this, I would recommend you to contact the Gutenberg developers: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues

Thanks, I didn’t realise that. What I really want to learn is if I can make a custom block that is like the core heading block, but fixed at a specific heading level, so maybe that tutorial is not the best place to start.
