gutenberg add images to Portfolio Slideshow

I am not feeling all that savvy with this tool at the moment. I have an old slideshow and I need to add images to it. I have tried the add slide button but that does not seem to work or I am just daft and not getting the workflow… Anyway, I have searched youtube for an example but they all use the classic editor not the new guttenburg.. Anyone know of a video?
