You can add Gutenberg support yourself by adding the following code snippet to the functions.php of your (child) theme.

Please note that you will not be able to manually add event dates while Gutenberg is on. Still working on a fix.

The latest version (0.18) now has Gutenberg support, including a fully functional event dates editor.
