• Hello!

I’ve tried implementing Google Tag Manager and would be running GA + two other tags through it. I’m still a bit confused by GTM, so I might have messed up somewhere or not understood everything.

    1. If I were to load gtag.js through CAOS, would I be getting the full effect of all the set-up tags or only GA? If I use other tags and they won’t run through CAOS, should I rather do it the GTM script way or CAOS + GTM?
    2. If this all is possible through CAOS (which would be really awesome), which code should I give to CAOS, UA-xxxx or GTM? I tried both, but didn’t get any test traffic through GA. This could be for numerous other reasons too: cache, failure at something with GTM etc. This is why I’d like to get installation guide so I can do CAOS part well and troubleshoot elsewhere.

    Thanks for your amazing work!

    Hi @diffler,

Sorry for the late reply. Your message skipped my mailbox, I think.

I think you can use gtag.js. This should connect to Analytics (loading the external analytic.js) AND Tag Manager. You should still use the UA-XXXXX code, I think.

Make sure, if you want to test traffic, to enable ‘Track administrators’ in CAOS. Because nowadays, in Private windows, any form of tracking is blocked (unless your using Chrome).
