guid in relation to permalinks?

  • I upgraded to WP2.5 and one of my pages is longer found.
    I have checked the db and it’s there. This guid shows the correct link.

    What is the relation between guid and permalinks or the actual URL?

  • Have you updated permalink structure in the .htaccess file / through the settings panel after updating?

    If I am correct, permalinks are set through .htaccess and come up as the simple, ugly links if the htaccess has not been modified. I forgot WHAT exactly drives permalinks, but I do recall .htaccess makes them “go” so to speak.
