I’ve been using your plugin for a while but as of lately I’ve noticed a decline in recovered baskets, on testing, this is because one of your version updates removed the ability for guests to recover their baskets.

Anyone clicking on the basket item from a recovery email is sent to a page asking them to login. All purchases on my site are as guests.

Could you let me know which plugin version removed the ability to recover baskets as a guest on the free version?

Or is this a setting somewhere that has reverted?

    Hi @kyarauk,

The Cart link in the reminder email refers to the My Account page as we ask the user to log in there. However, our plugin has a setting “Auto login WordPress users coming to the site using reminder email links” which allows the site admin to choose whether a registered user should be auto-logged in when a link in the reminder email is clicked.

This setting is present at Abandoned Carts -> Settings -> Email Sending Settings. You can enable this setting to achieve your requirements.

Please check and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately that doesn’t quite answer my question.

All my purchases are done as guests, there is no account functionality nor the need for anyone to login to make a purchase. Which means that sending the user to the account page isn’t suitable.

I am pretty sure this was not the case before which is why I picked your plugin over many others.

So my question remains how do I bypass any account page and instead direct the user to the basket page with the products they left in their basket before? Or is this a pro version option only?

Hi, so if the user is not registered in the first place theres no way to recover the cart?

Hi @tiknius, our plugin can capture guest carts; meaning users who are not registered on your site.

@kyarauk, we implemented this particular feature, which would force every user to go to the account login page instead of directly to the basket/cart page due to security reasons.

This is a potential security threat, as it can be used to share login access just by sharing the checkout link. So you can imagine a store admin or merchant selling downloadable items on the account page under the login. It will become easier for anyone with the link to access the materials or the products.

With that being said, you can still allow automatic login access for all your users, and you can do that by navigating to WooCommerce >> Abandoned Carts >> Settings >> Email Sending Settings >> Auto login WordPress users coming to the site using reminder email links.

    I hope this helps.
