Guest cannot see new messages

Glad to help. Currently the “must refresh” functionality is just how the free version works. But it is on the “to-do” list to make it automatically refresh at some point in the future if possible. 2) I can find another new problem that I must refresh to see the new message while using some Android Phones’ web browsers (including Chrome & Default Web Browser) such as Samsung Gaxlary S7 …etc although I have already logged in WordPress with one user. Web Browsers from IOS (mobile phone) and Mac OS and Windows OS do NOT have this problem that I can use these web browsers to see new messages in the Chat Box without doing refresh after I have logged in WordPress with one user.

Remark: I have already enabled Android & Web Browsers to accept notification but this problem is still existing.

Do you know why only the Web Browsers under Android need me to refresh for getting new message after login ?

1) It is planned but may take some time, as I am working on finishing up the pro version. And even then there are no guarantees that it’s do-able with the free version. I will try though.

I am still seeing auto-refresh working fine on Android (Chrome browser). I am using the online demo for testing (which is default SAC install).

For item #2, there is NOT any problems while using browsers under Windows, MAC OS, IOS !! It is strange !

I have installed the following two plugins (WordPress Persistent Login & PWA).

Do you think if the above two plugins are incompatible to Simple Ajax Chat only while using Android environment in some older Android phones ?
Remark: The Android of My SamSung S8+ for testing Simple Ajax Chat is already upgraded to newest Android 9.

It’s pretty straightforward to find out, just temporarily deactivate both of those plugins and try again with only SAC active. I would be glad to provide a guide to help with this if needed.

Also just fyi: I develop and test the plugin on iPhone and Android as well as all major browsers on macOS, Windows, and Linux. When nothing is interfering with normal functionality, the chat works great on basically everything.
