Good Day,

The Guest Avatar used by your plugin no longer works. That is, the image is broken due to a 404 (Not Found) Server Error.

Currently, this is what our site displays: Broken Guest Avatar and this is the associated console error.

The affected Guest Avatar URL is: https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=56&r=g which clearly is not working.

As part of our troubleshooting, we disabled all plugins except yours, cleared all cache, and resaved all permalinks. Issue remains.

Apparently, this is not a new topic.

Kindly review and provide a fix.

Update:

We reviewed the Source Code for your plugin, and noticed it calls out the following Gravatar URLs:

https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=56&r=g
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=112&r=g

Neither one works due to a 404 (Not Found) server error.

However, if you use the URLs provided below, they do work.

https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=112&r

Not sure the above is the solution, but it’s close.

Temporary Solution:
1. Go to WP Dashboard > WPDiscuz > Settings > Comment Thread Features.
2. Next to Avatar Settings > Default Avatar Source URL for Guests, enter the following URL: https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/?s=56&r
3. Clear all cache.
4. Guest Avatar will now appear with no issues.
