GTranslate short code in mega menu shows but does not switch languages

    Hi,

    I have the GTranslate language switcher short code inside a mega menu from Unlimited Elements running on an Elementor website. It has been working no problems for the last couple of years, but now the flag links no longer work to switch the language. If I place the short code within page content it works fine.

    I have already contacted the developer at Unlimited Elements to see if they can resolve it but they have requested cooperation from GTranslate. This is from the developer at Unlimited Elements:

    “Thanks for reaching out. I’m willing to help. But we will need help from the translate plugin support. When Mega Menu widget is initialized, it will use detach() jQuery method to copy all connected sections. This function copies translate plugin section as well. But after it’s pasted to the menu, the click event seems to be lost. If translate plugin will help in providing some workaround I will gladly implement it in the menu widget.”

    I’ve created a test page with the exact same section from the mega menu inner link placed on the page, and some sample text, you will see that the flag links work here but not in the menu above – https://asianinsiders.com/language-switcher-test/

    Hi,

    They will need to make sure that they also copy all events associated with the elements they copy. Specifically click events and hover events. If they are using jQuery, clone seems to do the job: https://api.jquery.com/clone/

    Alternatively you can use our paid version and it will be fine, since it does not depend on js events.

    I passed your message on to UE plugin support. But since your reply it is now working again, I’m not sure why. So I’ll leave it at that for now.
