We have a WordPress multisite, and just started using Yoast (the free version).

As we are targeting several markets with different languages, and for the site translation we have GTranslate (which doesn’t have options for input of text in other languages – just one base languages which is English for us), I’d like to ask what is the best way to go about it.

    1. Can I place the text in several languages in one Page/Post – is this good for SEO or would harm the ranking?
    2. At the moment most of the texts we have are on Pages and are hidden so would not be translated – we will start writing more public posts soon, but meanwhile – are these hidden texts indexed?
    3. Would Gtranslate’s translations be indexed (of course, for pages that are not hidden)?

Website is https://fashionfinder.online/ – the Home Page has such a hidden text in several languages as in point 1.

Thank you so much – this will greatly help us understand how to move forward..
    Kind regards,
    Dessislava

    Hello Dessislava,

Thanks for reaching out; we have addressed your concerns below:
    1. Can I place the text in several languages in one Page/Post – is this good for SEO or would harm the ranking?
Your question is a bit outside the scope of the support we provide. Giving?SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.

    2. At the moment most of the texts we have are on Pages and are hidden so would not be translated – we will start writing more public posts soon, but meanwhile – are these hidden texts indexed?
Can you share how the text is hidden?

    3. Would Gtranslate’s translations be indexed (of course, for pages that are not hidden)?
The Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin only analyzes the default WordPress content areas like the title, URL, and main content box and WP editor. If your translations have been added in these content areas, they should be indexed.

    Hi Maybellyne,

Thank you for getting back to me.

For Q 2: we have the content of the Pages inserted in Wraps / Blocks in Word Press. The blank field at the top of the Page (I presume this is the main content box) is where I have started to insert text (in several languages), but the setting for the Layout for “The content” is set to “Hide”.

If you need, I can place a screen shot on a link for you to see – please, let me know.

    Thanks again for your time!
    Kind regards,
    Dessislava

    Hello Dessislava,

Since the Yoast SEO plugin only analyzes content in the default WordPress content areas, the content you have hidden in other blocks as you have mentioned will not be analyzed by the Yoast SEO plugin.

However, while our plugin isn’t able to detect all your text blocks, this doesn’t mean that search engines won’t be able to parse them. Our content analysis is just to validate the content of your website and doesn’t really affect how search engines crawl and index your site.
