• Using Gmetrix I see that I can improve page load speed by “Serving scaled images””.

I compressed all images and scaled them to the correct sizing, but gmetrix still gives the message ” the image is resized in HTML or CSS from 1000×1000 to 300×200. Serving a scaled image could save 2MiB (95% reduction).

Even though I have resized image to 300X200. The are a lot of these messages for images which is causing my site to load slowly.

Since I resized all images via media library, (images are not all the same size) why when I load the website and check GTmetrix I get the same error and it is still loading the large images ie 1000X1200 even though I resized and replaced it? And resized and replaced all the large images?

  • FYI this isn’t going to really be a GTMetrix issue, do you have caching installed or using something like Cloudflare? using firefox you can right click the image and look for ‘view image info’ it will show you info on what your pages are loading. also what is the WP post/page editor ‘text’ editor showing for your image size html width:”1000px” – if you changed them in Media library and didn’t change the post/page content you’ll get the original sizes.
