    Hi,

I’ve recently tested my site with GTmetrix and found that the score for “Optimize images” is low. So I download and use Smush.it plugin to optimize all the images in the library.

But after doing that, the score is still low like nothing happened. I then tried to re-upload a new image for testing but got the same result.

Do you have any idea on this?

    Thanks!
    Paul

    Hi there Paul,

    Thanks for your question.

I’ve never personally used GTmetrix myself before, what does Pingdom Tools say if you run it through that? https://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

    Please advise ??

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
    Jack.

Hmm. It doesn’t say anything about optimizing images in the Pingdom Tools result. Or am I missing something?

    Hi @paulc-1

What are the image sizes and types?

If they are over 1Mb they won’t be smushed. If they are images that are already well compressed then they won’t be optimized either.
