GTM4WP transactionTotal not present in dataLayer

  • I am currently using the GTM4WP plugin with an ecommerce website and have followed through with the set up documentation. I’ve got this plugin running on other similar websites without any problem and I am able to pull the conversion value for use with Google Ads conversion tracking. Despite having the same settings – for both sites – across both WooCommerce, GTM4WP, and Analytics, I am unable to get purchase data to populate in the dataLayer.

    Hi,

    I can see a JavaScript error in the page:

    ga('send', 'event', 'Product',Order Placed: ${orderNum},${subTotal});

    This should be resolved but this is not necessarily the cause of the issue.

    Purchase data in the data layer is only presented once so that further visits to the order received page do not send the same transaction data multiple times. Because of this your sample URL is not enough for me to find a solution.

    I am not able to place a test order on your site because I would need to use my bank card. Could you send me a coupon code which would reduce the amount to 0?

    Thank you for your response. I have removed the ga event script for testing purposes and am still not having much luck with the dataLayer.     I’ve ensured all plugins and templates are all updated and I’m still not seeing the purchase data in the dataLayer.

    You will see there is a custom dataLayer push that I implemented as this was not something I could get past. Your plugin is still active.

    Please make sure to use the instructions provided in the email I sent with the coupon code, specifically the first and last names.
