The GTM CookieYes installation breaks my code, i.e. generates an Uncaught InternalError. The cookie banner doesn’t show up at all or then pressing buttons on it won’t show any effect.

The installation with the manual script works actually, but I would like to use the GTM version for better integration with other tools.

Before I ran the GTM CookieYes installation I
- flushed the cash (browser & cache plugin)
- I am not using the WordPress plugin
- had the manual script commented out
I really tested it out different times. The result is always the same.

Right now I am running CookieYes with the manual script again as this is a production site, so you won’t be able to investigate that matter directly. In case let me know what I can do to help you solve that matter.

Hi @cesare2016,

Greetings from CookieYes!

The CookieYes CMP tag won’t work with the plugin. While using the plugin, you should follow this documentation to integrate Google consent mode.

Also, please exclude the CookieYes script from the JS optimisation on your site.

I am NOT using the WP plugin. Never used it and don’t want to use. I already tried with JS optimisation plugin deactivated. That won’t help.

Sorry for the confusion, as this forum is meant for free plugin users.
As we suggested in the last response, please exclude the CookieYes script from the JS optimisation on your site. If the issue persists, share with us the URL of the site where this error is thrown. We couldn’t replicate this error on the site URL you have shared in this thread.

My god. I don’t want to be disrespectful but do you ever read what people write? I said that I switched back to manual script as this is a production site that has to work.

Hi @cesare2016,

We won’t be able to debug this issue until you keep the settings on which the problem is present. If you can’t keep this on the production site, please set up a staging site and share its URL.

I solved it. It was my fault. I am terribly sorry for that.

I actually had the CookieYes WP plugin installed but was 100% I never had.?

So it was the WP plugin & GTM installation running at the same time that generated the problem as you explained.
