I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced this issue!

My guess in this case would be that it may have something to do with Lazy Loading.

Can you check in Smush >> Lazy Load > Media Types if the issue still occurs if the iframe option is disabled?

I have disabled the iframe, and you are correct, the issue was resolved. However, I noticed that reinstallation of the Smush plugin droped by page speed score by 25 points.

Glad to hear that the issue is fixed!

Regarding the performance – deactivating/activating a plugin will often cause the caches to be cleared. If they aren’t generated and a test is ran, the scores may be much lower because it takes more time due to cache generation.

To prevent that, please clear all caches and then visit the site in incognito mode or in another browser (so you’re not logged in). Visit a few pages and then run the test and see if the scores returned to the previous level.

The scores are up, but have not returned to their level upon last check several weeks ago. However, I cannot say that there are no other influences. I appreciate your tips and will continue working with the plugin on my site. Thank you!!
