GST(Tax) not calculated correctly

    hey,
    we have just setup the site and while we have added the GST values and % correctly in the backend, it is not calculating it correctly. all the settings in the Tax tab is also setup properly.

    The GST is 5% which is split between CGST(2.5%) and SGST(2.5%).
    but during checkout it is calculating approx 4.7% for some reason.

    I am using Standard Shipping rates.

    sure,

    yes we are adding the GST in the price and adding it in the website.

    if the product is 12000 then according to 5% GST its simply 600Rs. which is included in the cost.

    when the visit comes we are displaying the price (incl GST) on product page and on checkout the split is to be shown so the same is transferred to the invoice, now at checkout the GST of this is coming to 571Rs which is short of 29Rs approx.

    now i want your help in fixing this 571 to 600.

    Hi @manoranjan11,

    The problem is for the 5% tax to be 600, you’d need to have the 12000 as your base price, plus 600 tax = 12600, like this:

    Basically: 12000 * 1.05 = 12600

    However, if you wish to have 12000 as your final price, which includes a 5% tax, then you’d have to have a base price that, when you add 5% to it, does a total of 12000.

    My product is still set up as a 12000 total price, but for demo purposes, I’m setting up my store to show the subtotal in the cart without taxes so it’s better understood:

    Now you see: 11428.57 * 1.05 = 12000.00 (rounding up from 11999.9985, to be precise).
