    Hi @juanforce,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I checked the affected Sitemap URLs in your screenshot, and they’re returning 404 status. Here’s a screencast for a quick reference –

    https://a.supportally.com/v/fA0Uc9

Those Sitemaps aren’t generated by All in One SEO. It is possible that another plugin on your website previously generated those Sitemaps, which got picked by Google.

However, as those Sitemap URLs aren’t working or required, you can safely remove them from your Google Search Console account. Here’s how you can do that –

We recommend following the guide below to submit your All in One SEO Sitemaps to Google Search Console

    https://aioseo.com/docs/submitting-a-sitemap-to-google/

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

    Hi Prabhat,

Thank you for your quick response. Actually, we already removed it many times from the GSC. But every time when I submit our sitemap to GSC with “sitemap.xml” it fetches the same old sitemap. I don’t know why.

So, may I know why Google fetches the old sitemap even if we removed it from the GSC. At present, Google isn’t fetching the All-in-one SEO sitemap.

By the way, I also tried to create sitemap manually as well. But GSC showing me “couldn’t fetch” message every time.

    Hi @juanforce,

Although, it shouldn’t fetch those invalid Sitemap URLs, could you confirm if you’re submitting the sitemap.xml URL multiple times?

You only need to submit the sitemap.xml once in your Google Search Console account, and Google would automatically fetch the updated Sitemap each time it crawls your website.

At present, Google isn’t fetching the All-in-one SEO sitemap.

I checked the Sitemaps on your website they’re working correctly.

Could you share a screenshot of the entire Sitemaps section of your Google Search Console account so I can take a look?

I’m looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Prabhat,

    >>could you confirm if you’re submitting the?sitemap.xml?URL multiple times?
We are submitting our sitemap only one time with “sitemap.xml“. Every time I submit sitemap.xml URL, GSC is fetching old one.

In the screenshot, You can see the it’s taking “Oct 22, 2022” under Last read.

When I check “sitemap.xml“, it showing me these https://snipboard.io/tsAwRq.jpg sitemap URLs. (Not from the All-in-one Sitemap)

So, we are not sure why Google is fetching these URLs from the sitemap?

    Thank you,

    Hi @juanforce,

In the screenshot, You can see the it’s taking “Oct 22, 2022” under Last read.

This is normal. Google will update the last read date once it crawls your website and Sitemap again. Please wait for a few days until Google crawls the Sitemaps again and see if the last read date updates.

When I check “sitemap.xml“, it showing me these https://snipboard.io/tsAwRq.jpg sitemap URLs. (Not from the All-in-one Sitemap)

So, we are not sure why Google is fetching these URLs from the sitemap?

Could you confirm what happens when you remove these unwanted Sitemaps from your Google Search Console account following the video tutorial link I shared with one of my previous replies? Are those Sitemap URLs getting added again even when you remove them manually?

It is possible that Google is seeing a cached version of your website. I’d suggest fully clearing your website and server’s cache and see if that helps.

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks!

    Hi Prabhat,

We cleared website and server’s cache. Still the problem is same.

We removed All-In-One plugin & installed Yoast plugin but the problem is still same.

Anyway, the problem is still not resolved but thank you for your support.

When I check the sitemap it shows me different sitemaps under “Sitemaps read” in the GSC.

    Hi @juanforce,

Since All in One SEO is correctly outputting the Sitemap, if you’re still facing the issue, I suggest you reach out to Google’s Support as they would be able to assist you better –

    https://support.google.com/webmasters/community

@mra7med Could you open a new forum post regarding this so I can take a closer look at the issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi Prabhat,

One of our specialist already asked question in Google’s community. You can check here. Still we are facing the same issue.

    Hey @juanforce,

I checked the question you asked in Google’s Community Support. Firstly, I’d suggest asking again why Google is fetching the Sitemaps that don’t exist on your website. You can mention that you’ve already cleared the caches and even after removing the Sitemaps, they’re getting added again. Although this still might resort to caching, I’d suggest asking this again.

Regarding RSS Sitemaps, these Sitemaps get crawled more frequently by Google and thus we include it in the Robots.txt file so that Google can find it easily. You can read more about this Sitemap here –

    https://aioseo.com/docs/how-to-create-an-rss-sitemap/

Since you already tested other SEO plugins and even submitted manually created Sitemaps, it can safely be assumed that the RSS Sitemap link added to your Robots.txt isn’t causing any issues.

However, you can disable the RSS Sitemap from All in One SEO > Sitemaps > RSS Sitemap tab if you wish – This would also remove the RSS Sitemap link from the Robots.txt file.

As for Sitemap Indexes, we also recommend enabling Sitemap indexes only when you have over 1000+ URLs on your website. You can disable the Enable Sitemap Indexes toggle from All in One SEO > Sitemaps to disable Sitemap indexes –

    https://a.supportally.com/i/i9Vz5l

Regarding the Couldn’t Fetch message, the information shared in Google’s thread is correct and the Couldn’t Fetch error doesn’t mean that there’s an issue with the Sitemap. As I confirmed in one of my previous replies, we’re generating a completely valid Sitemap.

I searched your website and Google is regularly indexing the Content on your website. Here’s a screencast covering multiple URLs of your website that Google indexed in the last 30 days –

    https://a.supportally.com/v/HalNBP

Google should update the Sitemap status once it crawls the Sitemap again. However, since the URLs on your website are getting indexed correctly, you can safely ignore the Couldn’t fetch message – this is also confirmed in your Google Community Support thread.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
