A couple days ago, I discovered that when I edited a post and clicked “Update,” the post seemed to update but the changes were not saved. If I viewed the live post or reloaded my editor, the post reverted to before my edits.

I spent several hours troubleshooting, which included deactivating all my plugins on a staging site, as well as deactivating my theme. I reactivated the plugins one by one (with my theme still deactivated), and discovered that Grow Social Pro was the culprit.

I deactivated this on my live site, and I’m able to update posts now. Unfortunately, this is currently leaving me with visible Twitter shortcodes in my posts as well as no social sharing options on my posts.

How soon will your team be pushing out a plugin update that is tested with the latest version of WP? Will you be proactively notifying your customers of the conflict? I have confirmed I’m not the only one experiencing this.

Please let us know. Thank you.

  • Got the same issue for a while and couldn’t figure out why. I couldn’t convert blocks and saved changes would not show.

I realize this plugin has not been updated for over 5 months. That is both free/pro versions. That is a long time for a plugin to not be updated and doesn’t scream “this plugin is a priority” for me.

I think I will just look for a different plugin. I as a customer don’t want to be the one telling a company to update their product.

@naomiliz For future reference, it’ll save you a headache if you use “Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin” and use their troubleshooting mode. It deactivates plugins and themes for you only so your site does not get disrupted by having to disable themes and plugins.

@james0075 – thanks for the tip on that plugin! Super helpful.

And I agree – I hope it is a priority because just a week or two ago I finally migrated from another plugin I had used for years.

I reached out to the Grow team via email and they said they are working on a fix, but I’ve still yet to see any proactive communication to customers, which I am a bit disappointed to see. WordPress 6.3 is breaking so many things right now – I know this isn’t the only plugin having issues, but I would still hope to see some form of communication to hopefully save others the time and headache. It’s also why I posted here, as I know these forums sometimes show up in Google results.

    @naomiliz No problem.

Yea, jumping from one plugin to another is never easy.

That is the reason I switched to this plugin because they were on top of things at the time. The last one I used was not and a lot of people got hacked or hit with malware.

Because these WordPress updates usually break things, I wait a while when new updates come out. A lot of plugins put out needed updates by then and things usually get resolved, but can’t wait forever also.

I am disappointed as well, but let’s hope they fix it.

    Hey @naomiliz and @james0075,

Thank you both for reaching out, and for providing these details.

First, I do just want to let you know that you should be able to update your Grow Social Pro plugin to the most recent release where the issues within the post editor have been resolved.

Also, I’d like to thank you for your feedback! We didn’t make any announcements here, as this is a forum for the free version of the plugin, where this same issue thankfully isn’t occurring. Additionally, we’re proud to offer Grow Social Pro customers access to more hands-on support like mentioned?on our website. If you happen to have any issues in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out at?[email protected]?and we’re absolutely happy to help. We’ve worked with many of our customers on this very issue all weekend, and today we’ve even released a hotfix for the issue that has been tested thoroughly against the new version of WordPress.

All the apologies for any frustration this issue has caused! If you have any issues in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out at?[email protected]
