Groups as a list, but not like FB

    Your Groups extension is impressive, but we’re trying to just use the core UM plugin to list a user directory and a group directory. We don’t want groups that people can join and that we would have to moderate. We just want individuals that have an action group in their locale to list it. Just a listing of groups.

    I tried to create additional fields for the specifics of their group (i.e. Group Name, group City, group State/Province, group Zip/Postal Code, group Country, group Web site,
    group Description, etc.) and create a second Member List only showing the fields for the group, but it still lists the Username at the top. I also had to make a button go to a filter of the page only showing those who checked a box (chkHasGroup).

    Can you think of any other way to accomplish this? I tried to create a registration form for just register a group (as a person), but it’s all tied to the same user and didn’t work.

    Hi @genelaratonda,

    You can uncheck the “Show display name” option in your groups member directory to hide username for the groups. Then just show the group fields in the reveal section.

    You can also use the admin filtering option to pre-filter the directory by who has (chkHasGroup) field set.

    The solution we are going to go with is installing a second instance of WP and UM in a subdirectory so we can list Groups like Members with Profile Cards and Profiles.
