Hi, I am in the process of making a shop where I am faced with a challenge around grouped product.

I don’t quite know which solution is best so hope you can help me along the way.

I have several simple products that we can call Sparkling water. Then I have several variable products that could be cola and orange aroma with variants like Coca cola aroma, Pepsi aroma, Fanta aroma, Squash aroma etc.

Both Sparkling water and aroma must be able to be purchased separately, but I must, in the best possible way, be able to group Sparkling water with the aromas.

So, when you buy a Sparkling water, you can choose on the product page which aroma and variant of the aroma you want to include and how many. All items must be added to the basket and all items have a price.

The challenge lies in creating the goods from an external supplier (dropshipping) with CSV and stock status also being handled by the supplier with daily updates.
So I prefer that you can combine the existing products without having to create new products as a container.

Someone who has some good advice?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @davallen! This is tricky, as all bundling plugins I know of do create “container” products to group the other products. We have documentation here that compares the different bundling/grouping plugins, but I think you’ll find that all of them use custom container product types.

That being said, I think that all of them also include the products in the container with the order, so you’re probably OK? It’s definitely something you’ll want to test out. We have a 30 day refund policy if you find they won’t work for your needs.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any further questions!
