Group product ratings into vendor ratings?

  • Hello, is it possible to also show an average vendor rating based on product ratings, and/or to rate vendors in addition to products? E.g. in my case the products are tours, and product ratings are a good indication for vendor performance on other tours. So when a client reviews a particular tour, I’d like that to be also reflected in the rating of another tour offered by the same vendor. Thank you.

    Hi Alex,

    I’m not sure we fully understand what it is you’d like to implement. That being said, I don’t believe the plugin will do what you’ve explained. While you can’t have vendors and tours as two completely separate reviewable categories that are somehow intertwined, one thing you could do is add a custom field to your submit review form that allows people to put a score for the vendor, as well as the score they’re giving for the tour. This would be reflected in the summary statistics as well.

    thanks for the explanation.

    Assume I allow clients to rate products (tours) with different custom fields.
    Some of the custom fields would be applicable to all products of the same category independent of vendor (e.g. a certain destination), others would be applicable to the vendor independent of product (e.g. service quality).

    Even though your plugin “off-the-shelf” doesn’t offer it, do you think it would be possible to custom-code, so that an average rating for e.g. a certain destination or a certain vendor’s service quality could be calculated and displayed?

    Hi Alex,

    As we mentioned before, unfortunately, this feature is not available in the Ultimate review plugin. But we will consider this as a feature suggestion for our future updates.
