• Does anyone know how to fix this fatal error that occurs when I try to activate the BadgeOS group management add on?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /home/wp_zhq5ex/intellikey.org/wp-content/plugins/badgeos-group-management-add-on/includes/badgeos-users.php on line 227

I also can’t find the badgeos-users.php file that has the undefined function…

  • I tried installing it again on a different domain, running a default theme, just to see if I had any better luck. This one is getting this error:

Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function check_group_management_group_roles() in …/wp-content/plugins/badgeos-group-management-add-on/badgeos-group-management.php on line 102\n

On this particular install, I do not use a custom user roles plugin and so just have the default roles present in wordpress and buddy press: participant, moderator, blocked, spectator, key master, subscriber, contributor, author, editor, administrator.

I am still waiting for a response on this issue.

    Hi sarafinfin and eureka345,

We have resolved the issue with this Plugin. The conflict occurred when you had custom roles on your WordPress site, and some of the default WordPress roles were absent. Please try to install and activate this plugin again, and let me know if you experience any further issues.

    Awesome, thank you!

I was able to install the plugin without getting the errors I was before.

However, once I installed it I am getting some very odd behaviours. Does this plugin support multisite?

Here’s what I’m noticing while trying to test on one sub-site of a multi-site install:
    – the badgeos section disappeared from admin panel
    – no users are appearing in the users section of admin panel
    – adding a new user seemed to work as usual; however, that user does not show up in admin panel
    – I tried ‘creating a school’ but I’m not sure what’s supposed to happen after that? (perhaps because of the users issue as noted above I’m not able to see the new account created and therefore am missing out on the intended functionality)

Essentially, I use BadgeOS on a multisite. Every teacher has their own subsite. Those teachers teach multiple classes in a day and so they require a way to manage users that allows them to group them, so they can view the users list class by class and also sort submissions/nominations class by class. I thought that’s what this plugin would do but perhaps I’m missing the mark in my understanding of it.

    Hi eureka345,

We have actually not tested this plugin in a multisite environment, so we will need to undergo some investigation to confirm what you are experiencing and work to resolve it. This plugin wasn’t originally designed to be used in the configuration you are attempting. The intention was to provide administrative ‘groups’, partitioned across schools, within a single site. This would allow each school to manage their teachers and students separately, and segregate their information from other schools, but in a single site environment.
