• Does anyone know how to fix this fatal error that occurs when I try to activate the BadgeOS group management add on?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in /home/wp_zhq5ex/intellikey.org/wp-content/plugins/badgeos-group-management-add-on/includes/badgeos-users.php on line 227

I also can’t find the badgeos-users.php file that has the undefined function…

    Hi sarafinfin,

We are currently researching this issue, and will respond to you shortly. I suspect this might be due to incompatibility with the version of PHP you are running on your site. Is it possible to check which version you have configured?

    Thank you.

The version I’m running is 5.6.19

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it! ??

    Hi Sarafinfin,

Can you also please confirm which version of WordPress you are currently using?

    Thanks!

Sarafinfin, based on the error you provided, we created an updated version of the Group Management Add-on. The function you listed in your error message, get_current_screen(), is a standard WordPress function, and should be available. This error might be the result, though, of a conflicting plugin. Please try installing this version of the plug-in below, which has a workaround for your specific issue:

Hi learningtimes, I appreciate the work you did immensely, but it’s still not working for me. ?? The new plugin installed and activated with no problem, but it makes it so I can’t see any users, and so I can’t scroll up or down on my dashboard…. Here is a screenshot of the missing members:

    Hi sarafinfin,

Thank you for getting back to me, and I apologize that we have required this extended troubleshooting process.

I’d like to know more information about your environment. Can you please tell me which versions of BadgeOS and WordPress you are running, and what other Add-ons you have enabled on your site? I want to ensure nothing is conflicting.

    Thank you.

No problem at all, I really appreciate all of your support!

    BadgeOS version: Version 1.4.8.1
    WordPress version: 4.5.3

    Addons I also have:

    – BadgeOS BuddyPress Notifier
    – BuddyPress Invite Codes for BadgeOS

I have the “members” plugin installed, as I wanted to create a new taxonomy. Not sure if that conflicts at all.

Please let me know if I can provide any other information!

I think the taxonomy you created might be the issue. Can you please confirm all of the user roles you currently have set up on your site (default and custom)?

    Thread Starter sarafinfin

    (@sarafinfin)

Absolutely! I am using WPLMS, and here are the roles:

    Default:

    Admin
    editor
    author
    contributor
    subscriber
    student
    isntructor
    customer
    shop manager
    school admin
    Instructor

    Custom:
    parent
    College

If I delete the plugin I used to create the new taxonomies, do you think that would resolve the issue?

Hi! Just wanted to check in. Thank you so much for all your help so far.

    Hello –

I was so excited to see this add-on. I’m experiencing the same issue.

Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen() in …/wp-content/plugins/badgeos-group-management-add-on/includes/badgeos-users.php on line 227\n’

Previously, my users had been using a plugin to create custom user roles (WPFront User Role Editor Business Pro) in order to manage groups. It was a clunky solution, so I’m happy to have something more streamlined – but I can’t get it to activate and have tried on multiple sites. If there’s a particular set of user roles I need to have in order for this to function – let me know and I can test it.

I’m running the latest version of WordPress with multisite activated, all plugins up-to-date, PHP Version 5.5.22-1~dotdeb.1

    Any updates on this issue?

    Anything? Anyone? Bueler?

I’m waiting on this so that I can fix it before moving on to add other features. My clients start their school years soon so I need to get this sorted. Please advise what options I may have and/or if there is anything I can do on my end to help you troubleshoot.

Same! Looking forward to your response!
