• Enabling ‘Group FAQs by Category’, which is quite useful for pages with hundreds of FAQs, seems to break the intended behavior of the shortcodes ‘popular-faqs’, ‘ultimate-faq-search’, and ‘ultimate-faqs include_category’ – especially when combined with ‘FAQ Category Toggle’:

    • (Visible on homepage) [popular-faqs] shows all categories, with up to 5 (the most popular in that category) FAQs under each. Since ‘FAQ Category Toggle’ is enabled, the FAQs are hidden until the categories are toggled. Expected behavior would be to simply show the 5 most popular FAQs, regardless of category and without the category titles.
    • (Visible on ‘Kundeservice’ page) [ultimate-faq-search] produces search results which consist of categories (with some category titles being duplicated for some reason), with the found FAQs beneath their respective categories when the category is toggled. Expected behavior would be to simply list the found FAQs, without category titles.
    • (Visible on homepage) [ultimate-faqs include_category=’topp-10-sporsmal’] shows the category title, and the FAQs beneath it when the category is toggled. Expected behavior would be to simply show the FAQs, without the category title.

  • Hi bruce,

The category toggle applies to all shortcodes. So if you have the category toggle enabled, it will be enabled for all the shortcodes you mentioned. There is no option to enable or disable the category toggle on a per-shortcode basis. It’s a global setting.

The main issue is with ‘Group FAQs by Category’, not ‘FAQ Category Toggle’. The latter just magnifies the problem.

However, both settings are indeed global. The fact that ‘Group FAQs by Category’ is global makes the aforementioned shortcodes practically useless when this is enabled.

Note: I’ve disabled ‘Group FAQs by Category’ for now, while I try to implement a workaround by modifying your plugin. Let me know if you need to look at the site and I’ll enable it again.
