Group Deleting, Reorder Question

    More a general question post. Your plugin is a great idea, and I wish bbPress did this natively… Scenario:

    Group1 Member
    Group2 Founder
    Group3 Administrator

    1) Can we change a group name without impacting the forums? For example, if “Group3 Administrator” was changed to “Group 3 System Gods” is that an issue from a database perspective? Do we need to go back and reassign forums to this renamed grouped?

    2) Can we delete a group? For example, can “Group2 Founder” be deleted? If not, tied to question 1, can we change to something like “Group2 Placeholder – Not Used”.

    3) Can we merge a group? For example, can “Group2 Founder” be merged into “Group1 Member” ? If not, tied to question 1, can we change to something like “Group2 Member – Was Founder”, then give the Group1 users access also to Group2 and vice versa, without causing db issues?

    4) Can we add a group between two groups:

    Group1 Member
    Group2 Paid User
    Group3 Founder
    Group4 Administrator

    I don’t believe we can just insert as “Group5 Paid User” as that group would automatically have access to the “Group4 Administrator” group (based on your comments under the “Description” tab. Assuming that is still true, do you have a suggestions as to how to insert groups between groups as the forums grow?

    1) the database just stores the group number – so you can change the name quite happily

    2) There is no way to ‘delete’ a group – but yes you can just change the name to wehatever eg ‘not used’

    3)no direct way to merge. But yes you should be able to do as you suggest

    4) The groups are not a hierarchy, not sure where the description was that led you to this – let me know and I’ll clarify – but yes you can add group 5 – it will be independent of any other groups

    Thank you so much for the speedy response. My bad. I totally misread the example, I guess, from the “description” page. That totally solves my concerns regarding my question 4.
