When I select grid mode in Media library, the list and grid mode switch buttons disappear. The filter box style is also affected.

    See screenshot!

    Hi Nick,

    (1) Try to clean up your browser cache.

    (2) If item #1 didn’t help, then it’s most likely a conflict with some of your plugins. Please try deactivate them one by one (most likely it’s the one of media plugins) and let me know which one affects the grid mode.

Yes, it’s fixed. I deactivated the media plugins (I have two other: Media Tools and Media Vault), clean up the cache and reactivated all back.

    Thanks Nadia!

I believe it was just old CSS in the cache, can’t get why it wasn’t updated with the plugin changed its version though, will investigate this. Thanks for the confirmation!

Since the 2.4.1 update I also experience grid-view issues. Not solved by emptying cache.
When scrolling the page the WP dashboard column scrolls, not the page.
The grid itself can also be scrolled, but on smaller screens or with some messages on top of the page, it is a mighty small area (one row of pictures, or sometimes it disappears from screen completely) In case of messages: clicking them away does not move the grid up, just leaves an empty space.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Erik,

    (1) Close all admin messages.

    (2) Please watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EL2guNpr8jc&t=2s, it shows how it is supposed to be. Please let me know what’s the difference in your case.

    Hi Nadia,

What causes the issue is the fact that body.upload-php.eml-grid #wpbody has a fixed position. When I disable that, and also the adapted left position, everything works normal (that is, how I expected it and prefer it to work.)
So I’ll just change the css file.
    Thanks!

    Hi Erik,

    Thank you for the update!

Just one point: it is not normal that it is broken because of the #wpbody’s fixed position. You may face other issues with the grid mode after this change. Also, the next version will add the fixed position to #wpbody again. Normally, all is broken when it doesn’t. Your theme or a plugin can affect media library styles which causes the issue. You can check this out by deactivating all plugins one by one and changing your theme to one of WP “twenties”. If you mind (wpuxsolutions [at] gmail [dot] com in this case) you can provide an access to your admin (maybe you have a development version), so I will be able to test the issue in your environment.

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Hi Nadia,

It’s not that it’s broken.. there’s just some usability issues. But I’ll send you some screenshots with explanation. I think that’ll suffice, if not I’ll send access data to a previous development version.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, Erik!

I’d just like to make sure it’s compatible with as many various environments as possible. I am looking forward to your screenshots.
