    Hello,
I installed the plugin and so for is working great.
    Just a couple of questions:

    1. Why the background of the icon appears green on Windows 10?
    2. If I make a change on the PWA, all the users will benefit of the update or do they need to install that again?

    Thank you

  • Hi, Thanks for using our plugin and happy to hear that it helped you to make a “Super” PWA.

    1. Why the background of the icon appears green on Windows 10?

Can you please let me know whether you tested upon Windows mobile or not? I didn’t have a Windows device to test PWA, so I’m not sure why a green background for it. If you don’t mind can you share a screenshot to us?

    2. If I make a change on the PWA, all the users will benefit of the update or do they need to install that again?

No! The PWA’s service worker will get update in background automatically. Most of the times the service worker will get updated if you open and close the PWA, sometimes it may take 24-48 hours. I think the icons will only get updated if the user clears the cache.

I would also like to update that upon your website the page which you set as offline is https://www.surface-phone.it/, which is redirecting to URL without a backslash. (Due to that reason the SW cannot fetch and cache that page, as its redirecting) Can you please change it to any another page for Offline?

Thank you for your quick response.

I just updated the offline page. Thank you for the hint.

Here is the screenshot of the icon I got on Windows 10 (not able to upload it here).
    ** doesn’t matter, i figure it out **

Please, keep in mind that this “error” is on both PC with Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile devices.

    EDIT:
The problem is how Windows devices “read” the icon with no background. In order to solve the problem, I just need to update a new Icon with a background.
The problem right now is that I’m having hard time in updating it. I cleared the cache on the server, cleared the cache on the computer, restart the computer, and nothing: it always shows me the previous icon.
    Any suggestions?

I just noticed that the problem is that on Windows Devices (both PC and Windows Mobile) doesn’t get the icon of the plugin. Actually it doesn’t take any information of the plugin.

PS I have another post that is in “moderation” since I added two links. You can just ignore it.

Should the plugin work with Windows 10 ?

We think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. Let me get back to you soon.

Closing this thread as the icon on Windows Menu is something not related to a feature of PWA. If we found the Start Menu helps in PWA anyway, we’ll surely consider to release it as an Add-on in future.
