Thank you for taking the time to post a review.
I can’t deny there is a learning curve, but for the most part it turned out being designed for Front-end Development. Which would otherwise be Backend Development, and typically untouched by most. I’ve thought of ways of moving it further than front end, and possibly making it more of a fluid UI, but APL still has plenty of frontend/backend mechanics to focus on.
There could be more possibilities in the future. I would like to open the plugin up to the option of extensions for handling custom data that isn’t native to WordPress. That includes the idea of different Admin UI configurations that could be switched, or what ever idea the community may develop.
As it stands, APL slowly became a Core extension of WP_Query with v0.3. The implications have been fairly large, and even a bit overwhelming at times given some of the dynamic features I decided to include, but APL is pretty much a fully integrated query plugin. With all the feature settings of WP_Query, rather than just a few (limited) settings. However, I did decide to exclude only a few that were very error prone and detrimental to the plugin.
Currently, I am focusing on some outside projects of APL, but as soon as that is done or a major WP update comes out. I’ll then focus on developing v0.4 which will be an Admin UI and frontend mechanics update (internal shortcodes).
Glad you find this plugin helpful, and look forward to more updates in the future.
