Great theme, would be better if..

  • I think this theme is awesome. It has an impressive home page with plenty of customization options. It can be used for business or personal and has a nice clean layout. The downside is the slider on the home page, the use of the featured image sections on any page or post, and redundancy issues.

    Pages:
    The home page template needs you to associate everything with a published page. In a lot of the areas it would be so much easier to give the option to manually write in what you would like your selection to say and then enter a link. I say this because not every featured “this or that” needs to have a page dedicated to it.

    The Home Page Slider:
    It displays well, but it is not clickable. Almost everything else on the home page is clickable. It would be great if the slider had the option to be used as a big beautiful call to action button. Without this option, the slider is pretty useless.

    Featured Image:
    In order to get the home page slider to show, you have to associate it with a featured image from a published page. The home page slider then displays the image as well as text from the page. And I mean all of the text! This means if you only want to display some text, you have to create a dummy page with a featured image as well as the shortened text, publish it, and then hide it from your menu since the slider is not clickable. This is a huge waste of space.

    On the other hand, if you really like your featured image it does not actually show on your page or post. Why is this not an option?

    Conclusion:
    This would be a 5 star theme if the redundancy issues were fixed. If they are, I would completely update my rating.

    Thanks for you review. I will try to explain in point wise

    Pages:
    >> For the theme to be approved in www.remarpro.com repo, it is required to follow some rule.
    We would also definitely like to give the option to add the content via customizer panel instead of having to create the page and then assigning in the customizer panel for each and every section. But this content would get lost when you switch the theme and according the theme submission rule the theme is not allowed to add the custom created content that get lost on switching the theme. So the theme is bound to use post/page/category for each section used.

    The Home Page Slider:
    >> The case is similar for the slider as well. The slider image can be linked to its associated selected page. But this option of linking the page for the slider would be useless. Also adding this option would require to limit the text for the slider with … option which will not look good.

    Featured Image:
    >> The theme submission rule again does not allow this.

    If you check other theme, you will find the similar situation. Some theme make use of plugins to avoid this situation.
