Great theme backed by solid company

I’ve been using the Spectra One theme for the past few weeks (migrating an older site) and it has proven well constructed and robust. Spectra is fast and a better choice than sister-theme Astra if you want to use the latest Gutenberg technology to future-proof your site. Spectra One works particularly well with Spectra Blocks, but I’ve been mixing it up standard WP blocks and others offering specific functionality that we need, and not had any problems.

One of the main reasons we went with Spectra was the company behind it – Brainstorm Force. Their size and capabilities meant they could help me resolve the one support issue I had (even though it turned out not to be a Spectra issue!) They’ve also been updating the theme and blocks regularly, and it gives me confidence that as soon as WP issues a new version Brainstorm Force will issue an update to their themes and blocks. The Spectra theme and blocks doesn’t yet offer 100% of the features we’d like (and maybe not as full as their legacy product Astra) but it is steadily being improved and any shortcomings are easily overcome.

The way WP works these days many themes have a similar look and feel, so it’s hard to choose one. But will these theme providers still be around in five years time? The blocks provide the real power for your site and it’s how they work with the theme that really make a difference. If the blocks and the theme that you use both come from the same major player in the market then you’ll be more likely to have access to the latest features and to any support you might need. I think you can’t go wrong with this latest offering – Spectra – from Brainstorm Force.
