• When you get into niche directories that are outside of simple resource lists, one’s requirements can get pretty specific and very dynamic. The GeoDirectory suite offers a lot of functionality that is highly customizable. It takes more work sussing out how to get WP to dance to your tune with this, especially if you aren’t deeply expert in WP customizing already. If you have deep requirements and are fairly new to WP, you’re probably going to need a little more help than just clicking a few configuration options. I think this is more to do with the nature of WP. But by the end of an installation, you’ll be pretty good at knowing what’s what in WP and GD. ?? And that is helped along the way with great and responsive support from the GeoDirectory team who show they care about your success.

And I want to amend my review to say that I also purchased and installed Directorist on a dev site, a competitor that claims to be a lot better than GeoDirectory. Oh my, no. They have a very, very long way to go to come close to the configurability of GeoDirectory. Things you take for granted with GD don’t even seem to be on their radar — just basic things to configure, let alone the more complex requirements.
