    Recently my website went down for reasons that were, at that time, unknown to me. I’m a database expert but have limited skills with websites. However, I did successfully build my own WordPress website two years ago after watching some videos.

    Once my site went down, the first thing I did was contact my website hosting company and they were not helpful. The next thing I did was contact WordFence — for all I knew, maybe my website was hacked. WordFence has a reasonably priced cleaning service and I was willing to pay that, if necessary, to get my website back up. Phil in customer support responded to my inquiry. The bottom line is that he was polite, patient, and informative. With just a few pieces of advice he helped me quickly get my website back up. The cause of my problem was that my website hosting company did some maintenance, sideswiping me. It was easy to fix with Phil’s helpful advice.

    So I heartily endorse WordFence for their conscientious efforts to protect the WordPress community. As a side benefit of premium membership, I get access to their staff for an occasional question which is most valuable to an inexperienced website operator, such as myself.
