• This is a great plugin that just works, but if you change your metadata (e.g. swap featured images), it won’t update.

    hi @davert318

Thank you for 5-star review, but could you explain:

    > it won’t update.

I checked and it is updated on my test site.

    Possible issues:

    – cache on site
    – cache on server

    Second question:

    How did you check it?

FB for example cache request to web site and it get new data after few days – the better way to check is to use Sharing Debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ with “Scrap again” button – if it does not change – then check website cache.

    Happy New Year!

Thanks. I did use the debugger and it persisted with the old values (I could also see it in the page source). Could be cacheing though I did flush caches first. Manually removing the data from the database fixed it. Maybe a one-off or “it’s my fault not yours” problem? The reason I had to do it in the first place was because a “this is a stolen image” graphic was stolen – though I don’t have any image controls! So my own configuration might be the issue. I’d ask for a “clear data” button but then you’d have to do user interface things and clutter it up…

Thanks for writing this, and thanks for letting me know what I saw isn’t what should be.

    Ouu

I’m sorry. I hope all is now ok?

Yes, all okay now, and I appreciate your plugin. This isn’t a situation that will come up often, regardless. I do wonder about the sporadic self-inflicted “stolen image” issue on my server but that’s probably some weird nginx/Apache/CPanel interaction.
