Recently I built my very first real website, also for someone else. I created it on a different domain and migrated it to the users host to replace an old website. Really exciting, also because a lot of things could go wrong.

First I created a copy of the old site, cleared the contents completely and installed a new installation of WP. After that I migrated my new site with WPvivid Pro and it worked right away. The migration was from Strato to Antagonist, and it just worked. The connection with remote storage -and the backups- also work great, so definitely a 4-star rating. I’m really happy that it’s a one time payment, not a subscription.

There are two things that need improvement, I think:

    • Incremental backups are still in beta. I just checked, and this is not really visible on the product website. This was and is one of the reasons to buy it. But still, I prefer a stable install. So when it’s stable enough I hope it will be fully implemented.
    • Yesterday an update of WPvivid was released. When trying to update, the update froze (on two hosts) at the point of creating a back-up of the plugin on a remote storage. I disabled the free version (which is needed for the pro) and after that the update worked. Not a big issue, but this caused me to lose the settings of WPvivid. So, I hope this will be addressed -or explained- in the future.
    • All the rest: a great plugin! (And great costumer support!)
