Review Updated – I urge you to read before commiting your time
-
I have been using the pro version for a number of months now, and are quite happy with how it works.
One thing I have noticed is – the developer makes it very hard to contact them in order to report a bug (or two). I’m “guessing” they think the customer should pay them $60 euro for the privilege of doing so.
I’m all for developers getting paid for “TRUE” one on one support work.
Customization, user error, plugin conflict resolution, fair enough, pay them for a support package. However, to my mind at least – bug reporting/fixs should be free.
Would of given 5 stars otherwise. ??

Since I posted the above review – The Encyclopedia / Glossary / Wiki developer Dennis Hoppe has seen fit to block me from any further encyclopedia plugin updates – Updates I have paid for.
My security expert confirms this has been done using an account blocking plugin – also created and sold by the same developer.I have over 160 terms in my encyclopedia, each with between 5 to 20 images and painstakingly crafted text and information. This represents over 500 hours of my time and effort being invested.
The encyclopedia developer has now exposed my precious data to future security issues. My total attempted communications with the developer has been limited to a single attempt to report a fairly simple bug (no response received) and to politely ask him to unblock my account with him in order to receive further payed for updates of the plugin (also no response received).
My Advice to perspective Encyclopedia users….
Due to the very nature of this plugin, it in effect becomes a integral part of every aspect of your work. Clearly you need to be able to trust the integrity of the developer. Unfortunately for me, my trust has been seriously misplaced and all my many hours of work has been placed unnecessarily at risk.**************************************************

I fully realize this is a review system for free plugins.
However, in this case – the developer has disabled 80%+ of the key features in the free version (as is his right). So we the users pretty much have to purchase the plugin to get any sort of cohesive experience on which to form a meaningful plugin review.A lot of other people and myself included have experienced a stonewall in attempting to communicate with this developer – more often than not after investing many, many hours of work into their respective encyclopedias.
I do not dispute the developers right to conduct his business in anyway he chooses. However I do defend the right of the plugin user to be able to submit a review – without reprisals.
I also support the notion that plugin users have the right to be informed via the reviews system of any different or unique features – in this case – it being a requirement to purchase a support package to simply report a coding bug.Thank You.
