Great Plugin – Horrible Update Decision

  • It really pains me to leave this review. I’ve appreciated this plugin for 8 years and have it installed on too many websites to count. I also appreciate that developers have to eat. But the heavy handedness of this recent decision to opt every site into a weekly email which amounts to an advertisement for the premium version is quite unfortunate.

    This should be opt-in for existing users, not opt-out.

    Please reverse this decision and this will once again be a 5 star plugin.

    We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by this update.

    Our intention was to disable Weekly Email Summary for all existing Lite and Multisite installations. There was a bug in the plugin code that did not trigger the migration code that was responsible to prevent these emails from sending, but this migration was not triggered on plugin updates via WP automatic updates or via external WP management tools.

    We released version 3.0.3 yesterday, which fixes this issue. Please update to this latest version and your sites will not send these Summary emails in the future.
