• During installation, the free version informs you that some occurrences of “https://” may need to be changed to “//” in some .css and .js files on your website. Although the free version will automatically fix most of that issue for you, some of those files may need to be edited manually. Unless you know a quick way to find those files, spend $25 and get the pro version. It has a scan feature which automatically finds any problematic occurrences of of “https://”. I highly recommend the pro version. The install was quick and easy, and my entire website is now https.

Thank you for your positive review! But only those occurrences that are hardcoded into css and js files or point to non-ssl domains, like hot linked images, need to be changed into https. All http links in your websource will be automatically changed to https by the mixed content fixer, which is part of the free plugin.

But I guess you did a file search for “https://” on all your website files, which will occur in almost every file ?? That would explain your extremely high result count. If you want to do it manually, it’s better to follow the link below and check the console, after migration to SSL.

The scan in the pro plugin will find any item that cannot be fixed automatically, and offers a fix option. In most cases this will be 5-20 images, stylesheets, etc, not more.

For the complete list of items the scan can find see this article:
