    Hi there,

This is a very nice plugin, it has the potential to fix all of my “how the hell do I tell my clients to..” -problems.

The only thing really missing for that is the fact that I cannot add LINKS.

Would you consider allowing the following HTML tags?

    <b>
    <a>
    <ul> / <ol> / <li>
    <hr> (optional)

Thanks for taking time making this plugin!

    Hi,

It is allowed in A way, just not when typing it directly as it would be inconsistent when it changes on a refresh for example.

It is possible to add HTML by copying it from another source. E.g. if you have it in a document or copying it from a post for example. When pasting it in the note it should hold.

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,

    Hi there,

I could have easily lived with that workaround but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’ve tried several different ways but to no avail.

    Hi,

Hmm, you’re right, I used to be that you could copy/paste formatted text, but I think a other change had a side-effect of preventing that too (it was never a specific feature, so I don’t test for it).

I’ll see if I can figure that out with the next update.

PS. when you enter a link in the note it should turn into a actual link ??

    Cheers,

Hello again, links will go in, yes but they aren’t clickable. Also link text isn’t working so it kind of doesn’t work at this point.

If this plugin hat the standard backend editor and a bit more control about what user groups can create, edit and remove notes boxes then this could be a winner but for reasons completely unknown, Dashboard Plugins never really take off here.

There should be ‘open’ option when you hover over the link(s). They aren’t clickable directly because you’d also want to be able to change the text if needed. (somewhat similar as how gmail does it)

I can certainly understand the desire for the power of the wysiwyg editor, but I went specifically for the user experience here (instant editing), which comes at the cost of not adding a wysiwyg.

The additional control for user (roles) is still on the top of my wish-list, but unfortunately it is hard to allocate the many required resources for a plugin like this.

    Cheers,
    Jeroen

I agree, it would become more complex and significantly more time consuming to maintain. Gotta love that thought though! :o)

Did anything ever come of this html request? I can’t find a way to create, paste, or otherwise use links in any way with the current version of this plugin?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You can enter a valid url like https://google.com and it will automatically convert it the next time the page is loaded.

Why don’t you just update the plugin and give it a little TinyMCE revamp? Seriously, this is an opportunity wasted..

    Hi,

Most importantly I decided I didn’t want a MCE editor as I went for the seamless style instead of a ugly editor.

Secondly, prior to WP 4.8 it was nearly impossible to dynamically add MCE editors to a already loaded page.

If extended HTML features are needed for your notes then I don’t think the WP Dashboard Notes plugin is the right one for you, I do believe there are others out there that offer more richeditor style options.

Maybe in the future there will be some sort of richeditor added, but very unlikely that it will be anywhere near TinyMCE, meaning a custom solution would be required.

    Regards,
    Jeroen
