Great plugin… but… but… but…

Yowza! I never imagined the plugin would be used at such a scale, and I’m honestly not sure how to support it. Would one table for all sites in a WPMU situation work better?

No I think it’s the plugin conception which doesn’t suit us. and a single table won’t be the solution. It would be much more interesting to interrogate the Zotpress database without having to import everything on blogs. But i think this way is impossible for you…

I think this would be a better discussion for the forums. Have you tried the selective import feature, which doesn’t import everything, just the folders you want? Actually, I’m overhauling the current approach to cache/import just the data used (although this could be a lot if someone presents their whole library on the frontend or makes a lot of calls through the reference widget — it would be similar to using selective import right now.) On another note, making a lot of calls to the Zotero library is not ideal for their server load, either. The load has to be leveraged somehow. If selective import or the new cached approach doesn’t work, then I don’t think a solution exists for your setup/requirements.

I’ve overhauled the plugin database and how Zotero libraries are accessed — I’m not sure if this makes Zotpress possible for your setup, but if so, please let me know — very curious if such a large platform can be supported!

We’re going to test out modifications you made. Thanks for this, Actually we’re not sure to use it on our platform, indeed it’s a very large installation, we’ve somes difficulties to keep it stable and light…
