• It’s got it all. Recently a bot was trying for entrance by bruteforcing the wp-admin page, was easy to change that URL.
But a feature or even a reminder to change the default username ‘admin’ to something else would’ve been nice. I did this in the back end, myself, but not everyone knows how to code or how to use phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks, bradickson!

Actually, it doesn’t matter what name a website administrator/owner uses if WP Cerber is installed on the website. The plugin effectively mitigates brute force attacks with any usernames. A recommendation to change the default admin username to protect a website from being hacked makes sense if there is no security plugin on the website. In fact, smart hackers try to find out a real username of the admin of a victim website.

To me personally, the main issue with the default admin username is that this username is not personalized.
