First, thank you for the excellent plugin.

It works right out if the box. The isssues I have found with is with what happens after comment has been successfully posted when a few other comment plugins seem to malfunction. The plugin Simple Facebook Connect does not load the connected users avatar or logged in status right above the comment form. The Marc TV Comment Quicktags do not load at all (located right above the text area inside the commentform selector). jQuery(document).ready(function() for textarea max-length disappears as well.

Also, on custom post type comments the browser needs to be reloaded manually to see the comment. An error message is displayed.

    Thanks!

  • Could you send me a link to reproduce the problems with the “custom post type comments”?

The plugin supports the ‘OnBeforeUpdateComments’ callback here you need to put in some JavaScript code that reinitializes the Simple Facebook Connect and/or Marc TV Comment Quicktags plugin’s functionality after the comments have been replaced on client-side. Please try to contact the plugin’s authors and ask them how to do that. If they can’t help you please contact me again and I will try to solve the problem.

    Best Regards,

Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late reply. I have managed to get the Ajax comments working with custom post types. I was trying to get the comments working by adding a rewrite endpoint, but could not. But I have skipped the endpoint for now, so it is not a problem. Thank you for the info on the callback. I will have a look at it and see if I can find a solution and come back here if need be. I also had a look at the no longer supported wp-comment-master which is not as finished as WP-Ajaxify-Comments but it works well since it doesn’t conflict with any of the aforementioned plugins.

I will mark this topic as resolved. Please feel free to reopen it if you need further assistance…
