Not ready for prime time

  • Bummer! I first reviewed this plugin with 4 stars. I can’t say you should use it, after totally destroying one of my sites. It just doesn’t do what it says it does. Forget about “managing” a site via Git with this plugin. Yes, you can make a backup of your site with a SQL dump. But you can’t restore a previous commit point, and you can’t restore your database unless you know how to do that without the plugin in the first place. It’s a great attempt, but you should not use this plugin until it is improved. Too many bugs, too many claims to features it doesn’t posses.

    Funny how you can edit your original review but I can’t edit my response.

    Sorry you had a bad experience with the plugin – but I didn’t see any support threads or emails from you. Perhaps I might’ve been able to help you had you given me the chance.

    Plenty of people have been using this plugin without any issues, so please be a little more specific than “it destroyed one of my sites”. The plugin doesn’t do anything by itself!

    Also if you can point out to me any features that I claim this plugin has that it doesn’t have, I’ll gladly remove any references to said feature.

    But for the time being I’m confident that I can accurately describe my plugin’s feature set.
