    The plugin does exactly what it says: scans the media library for unused media files. Even the free version saved me half the storage space on my server. Better to always check for unused items before sending them to the trash, so it might take some time, just to be sure. Even so, you can take a backup of the trash folder in case you might need to reupload something.
