• I think Gutenberg is a positive step forward for WordPress, but it’s being forced into Core way too early. This is an ideal candidate for a bundled plugin, like Akismet.

I can see why Automattic and WordPress.com folks love it, but they’re ignoring the grassroots www.remarpro.com community feedback by ramming this through regardless.

  • Hi there, thanks for your review and input on Gutenberg. Testing before release and gathering feedback is how the team can continue to improve it!

Can you tell us if there are specific things that you’d like to see improved, in your opinion?

If you’d like to report issues that you encounter in Gutenberg, please log an issue on the GitHub repo.

If you prefer the classic editor, you can use the Classic Block. You can call it by using the inserter “Classic” or with the slash command “/c”. This block has the Classic toolbar and doesn’t break up your text into single blocks.

You can also use the Classic Editor Plugin (which will still be available after Gutenberg is added to Core).

    Hi @courtneypk,

Specifically, I think that it should be possible to switch Gutenberg on or off with a simple toggle. Or bundle it as a core plugin like Aksimet.

The reason why I hold this position is…

… I appreciate that the classic editor will still be available, but from a end user perspective, the feedback I’m getting from my clients is that the Gutenberg experience is still non-intuitive and confusing.

Simply put, I think this is not ready for www.remarpro.com users and shouldn’t be forced on them.
