• The plugin started scanning my media (very slow) and then ended up stopping. Other users have experienced the same thing and there is no resolution. Media Cleaner is a great idea but unfortunately didn’t work for me.

It’s a bit harsh to review something that doesn’t work for you with one star. When there is a problem, please: help the developers and everyone else. Use the Support Forum. If you buy a car and it doesn’t start because of a little issue, you don’t dump it into the river and give the worst review to the car maker. You did it because it’s free, if you had paid for it I am pretty sure you would have asked for help.

And this plugin is not just “an idea”. I worked for it for 3 years and it’s close to perfection. But of course, it can’t work magically out of the box everywhere, because WordPress installs are very complex, if you have a cheap/slow server it will certainly need some adjustments.

The Media Cleaner process needs resources: it’s normal that people having issues basically have the same one (stops after a while = timeout = slow server). And of course, there are solutions. Have a look here if you have time: https://meowapps.com/media-cleaner/debugging-common-issues/.

Sorry for this reply, but I am a bit annoyed when I get this kind of review because it’s not objective at all and the plugin is supposed to be installed and used by someone with technical knowledge. I just think people shouldn’t review a product that they don’t perfectly understand and don’t analyze. I know that I wouldn’t.

@prompos123 I have a new version of the plugin that also works nice on big/slow installs. Are you willing to give it another shot?
