Great for blogging and small websites
-
This theme is great for blogging and small websites.
I like this theme because it has a lot of flexibility and it has the dotted line that creates sections makes it feel like a leather journal. I don’t care for the default font and many of the other fonts it comes with, but there is enough fonts to choose from that most anyone should be able to find one they like.
It makes a good single page website or blog. I am a web designer and I like the fact that I can customize it without cracking into the code. It threw me off at first that the options to change it are inside appearance menu in the dashboard instead of in under Theme>Customize.I initially had a problem with the header menu. First of all I don’t like how it follows me down the page. That is usually not a problem, but the header itself is a little bulky if you use a logo. To improve it I would like an option to turn that off. The other problem I had was resolved by going through the support forum.
The pages were not automatically showing up on top. That is because you have to create a menu to make them show. to display the header menu, please go to the “Appearance > Menus” panel,?create here a custom menu?and assign it to the “Header Menu” location. Then, you can set in “Theme Options > General Settings > Menu Item offset” which Menu Item should get the left indent to avoid overlapping with the logo.
It took a little bit to figure out. I had create a menu and then add pages to it. Even if you check the box that says Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu, you still need to add the pages that already exist.
After you have all your pages set up then change the Menu Item offset. If you change your page names or order after you change the offset you will have to check the website to make sure the offset still looks right.
After I had all that set up my website started to look good. I’m thinking about buying the premium version of the theme so I can have more color options. If you do the same thing try to keep away from bright primary colors. I have seen other people who use the theme that do that and it looks horrible. It’s highly distracting.
Overall I like it. I hope I can add custom background patterns after I buy it. That and the ability to change the white sections would be nice, but I doubt it.
Great Job guys!
