Great editor but NEEDS this simple feature

I’ve been using this editor for a long time, and it’s basic and does a good job without adding a lot of bloat.

I would like to offer a simple feature suggestion and hope the dev team can include it soon, please. Include a simple real-time word counter at the bottom of the page when editing a post or page, similar to Word and OfficeLibre Writer. Please add this option to the settings of this plugin.
